Environmental Monitoring Units (EMUs)
EDG’s Environmental Monitoring Units (EMUs) are cellular and Wi-Fi based data-loggers which monitor temperature, humidity, and CO2. These units are simple to install, and are ideal for collecting and monitoring environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics. Monitor synchronized data from one or more EMUs through the EDG Client Portal dashboard.
Cellular EMUs
EDG’s cellular EMUs offer global connectivity using an onboard SIM which supports multiple Tier 1 networks. In locations with multiple networks, this means redundant communication paths during an outage and less application down-time over traditional single-network SIMs.
At power-up, these zero-configuration systems establish a network connection and transfer sensor data to the EDG Client Portal over LTE Cat M1 (LTE-M).
Wi-Fi EMUs
EDG’s Wi-Fi EMUs use 802.11a/b/g/n/ac dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) to transmit sensor data to the EDG Client Portal.
Device commissioning is accomplished through EDG’s edgLink mobile app which uses Bluetooth to authenticate the device to a user-specified Wi-Fi network.
After authentication, apply power to begin transmit sensor data to the EDG Client Portal.
Why Engineering Design Group?
EDG's devices and services provide a short time-to-market opportunity for teams who need a secure, scalable, and robust solution for distributed sensor monitoring.
Lifetime security updates are deployed automatically to EDG systems with no user intervention and no application interruptions.
Scalable: Monitor any number of EDG systems using the EDG Client Portal web application. Adding another system to the Client Portal dashboard is as easy is as applying power to the system from the field.
Robust: EDG's technologies are designed and manufactured in the USA.
Our complete field-to-cloud solution eliminates the steep barrier of designing a secure, scalable, and robust IoT solution from the bottom-up. Our hardware works directly with our Client Portal to allow our customers to focus on growing their businesses while EDG handles the heavy lifting.
